Book Discussion Set to Begin

Beginning next month, the Weston County Library Foundation in conjunction with the Wyoming Humanities Council will begin a reading and discussion series, “Books that Endure.” Participants will meet the second Wednesday of each month through the month of May at 7:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. Books are available at the Weston County Library.

Phyl Sundstrom returns to lead the discussions. “This year’s series is a more traditional, historical selection of books than we’ve had recently. Each represents a different country and culture, but all have universal themes,” commented Sundstrom.

The first book in this year’s discussion is Pere Goriot by Honore de Balzac. This meeting is scheduled for February 8, 2012.

Large Print Books

A sharing program set up with the Utah State Library allows us to supplement our collection of large print books with books from their library. We recently rotated the last set of books we received from them and new titles are now available.

READING MARATHON

Join Children’s Librarian, Barrett Rich, for a Reading Marathon on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Read for at least two hours and be entered to win a bag of “stuff.” At 11:00 you can make a craft and at 2:00 there will be bingo with prizes! Bring your own books or read one of ours!

New Audiobook Service Available: OneClickDigital

Service with EBSCO audiobooks ended on December 1, 2011.

The Wyoming State Library has decided to offer a new audiobook service, OneClickdigital, in place of EBSCO.

To access these new audiobooks, follow these steps:

1. Go to www.westoncountylibrary.org

2. Click on “Databases and Other Resources.”

3. Click on “audiobooks” on the GoWYLD page.

4. Click on”OneClickdigital” link.

5. You will be prompted to start a new account. Once you have done so, you can continue browsing.
